Walmart+ Rolls Out New In-Store Perks for Subscribers

Walmart announced new in-store perks for members of its Walmart+ subscription program. According to a company announcement published Friday, members can now print up to 25 free 4x6 photos per month at Walmart photo centers, with an annual cap of up to 300 photos.
In addition, Walmart+ members can access a free financial service once per quarter at in-store Money Centers, covering check cashing, money transfers, money orders and bill payments.
CFO John David Rainey told investors on a call in May that Walmart+ membership revenue in the U.S. saw accelerated growth in the first quarter. "That growth is encouraging, because Walmart+ members overall spend about four times more than typical shoppers and make roughly seven times more e-commerce visits per year," Rainey said.
Dipak Meyni, head and general manager of Walmart+, wrote in a LinkedIn post that the new perks are part of the company's push to add convenience to the in-store shopping experience. Walmart+ launched in 2020 with a focus on unlimited free delivery — now the company is also emphasizing added value in physical stores alongside its digital services.
