TikTok Extends Ad Placements Beyond the App to Billboards and Stores

TikTok Extends Ad Placements Beyond the App to Billboards and Stores

TikTok has further expanded its Out of Phone advertising program. Launched in 2023, the initiative lets brands carry TikTok content over into billboards, in-store displays, cinema advertising and other physical formats — meaning campaigns are no longer confined to the app but now show up in the real world as well.

Earlier this year, TikTok had already grown the program through a partnership with Vistar Media, adding extra media placement options. The company has now struck new partnerships with Alight Media, DooH it, Powerpill, Zoom Media, Next-Gen Media and C-Screens, expanding its out-of-home network even further.

According to TikTok, the six new partners significantly boost the platform's presence in the physical world across the UK, France, Belgium, Spain and Italy. These partners will bring organic content from TikTok creators to screens in gyms, shopping centers, outdoor TV displays, bars, supermarkets and universities — extending TikTok's signature authenticity and creativity beyond the app.

The expanded placement options mean greater exposure for brands, with marketers now able to feature user-generated content (UGC) in this out-of-home advertising as well. It's a strong opportunity to put TikTok's distinctive content style to work in an entirely new way, potentially leading to campaigns that are more resonant and engaging.

This represents a more premium, curated-partner tier of advertising compared with TikTok's deal with Atmosphere, which lets any business stream a feed of TikTok content on TVs in restaurants, bars and gyms. Depending on campaign goals and placement specifics, it's a meaningful step for brands seeking bigger, more precisely targeted reach with their audiences.
