Google Cuts Search Profile Requirements Threefold
Google has lowered the eligibility requirements for search profiles — a feature that gives brands and content creators a dedicated, personalized page within search results. The change opens the door to a much wider range of brands and bloggers. A Google search profile brings together a profile photo, articles, videos, and links to social media posts in one place, letting users follow a brand or creator directly from the search results.
Under the new rule, any brand or creator with 35,000 followers on YouTube, Instagram, or X — or 100,000 on TikTok — now qualifies for a Google search profile. By comparison, the previous thresholds were far higher: 100,000 followers for YouTube, Instagram, and X, and 300,000 for TikTok. That's a cut of more than threefold.
In addition, Google Search Console has rolled out new reports showing which search queries users are using to find content, along with additional ranking and search-volume data. Eligible brands and creators can set up their search profiles through Google for Creators.
Google-owned YouTube is also expanding its copyright notification system: not just channel owners, but everyone with management access to a channel, will now receive email notifications about copyright claims and takedown requests. YouTube's head of editorial, Rene Ritchie, says the change lets everyone responsible for a channel learn about potential issues faster and resolve them more quickly.
For Uzbek brands, bloggers, and small producers, this has practical relevance: with the lower threshold, smaller but active local creators can now claim their own official Google search profile — an added tool for building brand trust and growing an audience through organic search.
