Is Your Brand Invisible to AI? Here's How to Check

Ever since the internet existed, brands have fought for good rankings in search engines. But in the AI era, that fight has entered a new phase — traditional search engines are fading into the background as AI chatbots take their place, Fast Company writes.
The 2026 AI Visibility Index, published by strategic communications firm Lucie Content, is the first major report of its kind, measuring how often businesses actually get recommended by AI chatbots.
The findings are troubling: one in four brands isn't mentioned by AI chatbots at all — meaning they're completely invisible to AI.
That means brands now need to track not just their search engine rankings but also how AI chatbots "see" and recommend them. Otherwise, they risk staying invisible to a whole segment of potential customers.
Experts recommend that brands regularly audit their AI visibility — doing so reveals which platforms are leaving them out, and why.
The takeaway is simple: AI visibility is no longer optional — it's a necessity. Companies that don't build a strategy for it today risk falling behind competitors tomorrow.
